Since my return I have been creating new episodes of my Adventure in Peru! Each video is a step by step look at my life living in the community of Pachacutec, Lima, Peru.

I want to use this opportunity given to me to help publicise the programme with my online diary/Episodes and short films that are coming soon. He is hoping this will help create positive exposure for the countries involved and give people an insight on what it’s like to volunteer aboard.

All the episodes will soon be compiled onto a DVD that will soon be available to borrow from your local Platform2/Christian Aid offices.

This video show you the emotional and contrasting journey we took heading to the community that we were going to be living and working in. The journey was 1hr 30mins and during this time we went through the vastly changing landscapes from the million dollar villas in Barranco, high streets in Lima, right through to the shanty town of Pachacutec.

Today was the day that all Peru participants in the Autumn Platform2 programme met each other for the first time to depart for our destination. I have to say I was quite apprehensive as its these people that I will be living and working with for the next 3 months. To my pleasant surprise everyone seems very down to earth and shared similar interest to myself.

This video shows a quick look at the journey we too to get to Peru!

Today was the day that all participants in the Autumn Platform2 programme that live in Central UK met each other for the first time prior to departure. I have to say I was quite apprehensive as its these people that I will be living and working with for the next 3 months. To my pleasant surprise everyone seems very down to earth and shared similar interest to myself.

We gather in the jewellery quarter in Birmingham where we spent the day learning more about safety, risks and other issues that may affect us while were on placement. There was the opportunity to meet with past Platform2 members who were more then happy to answer all the burning questions that we all had. We were given a lot of information and it was a lot to take in, the information regarding the project that Im heading too seems extremely useful as does the medical kit.

There is less then a month till we all head off to out destination countries and this is both really exciting and yet Im starting to get that sick feeling like I have an waiting Injection!

I have just been informed that I will be heading off to Peru for my Platform2 placement! Its entirely exciting to the MAX. This is going to be Fantástico! I will get the chance to teach English and Creative workshops as well as help build much needed sanitation facilities in a deprived area in Ventanilla, Peru.

As with all Platform2 Programmes the work that is done in each individual country whether its in Asia, Africa or South America is equally important and has lasting value.
This was just a quick update confirm which country that I will be heading to!

Watch this space for further updates and a hopefully in a few months time the first of a series of short films that raise awareness and highlighting issues that affect the less fortunate in Peru.

Well I started the course of vaccinations, I went in yesterday to the MASTA private health clinic in Solihull to have the first of 3 Hepatitis B injections. Also was given a massive list of health advice that was fairly scary!

It was a very long needle but I can take it! Apparently I have a further 10 Injections! 2 more Hep B + Hepatitis A + Tetanus + Typhoid Fever + Yellow Fever + Diphtheria + BCG + Polio + Cholera! Not forgetting the Malaria medication! Its all for one of the most exciting opportunity though which makes it all worth it!

This all is seriously exciting and I cant wait to find out where I will be heading off to! I will be finding out the destination this week so its a tense time!

It has been two weeks since I have returned to England from my three months living in Pachacutec, Ventanilla, Callao, Lima, Peru.

I have made this short quick video to show the people in Pachacutec how cold it currently is in England.

My computer that I used to update my website whilst I was lining in Pachacutec broke whilst out there due to dust in the air and overheating.

Because of this I was no longer able to write frequent updates, I have written many updates in my diary that I will need to transfer by hand when I have time. I have also documented many Global issues that affect Peru on a day-today basis.
